# What is an Official, and where do its numbers come from?

An Official is the one financial model Your Analyst builds and keeps for a listed company, made from the company's own reports and published only when it passes our checks.

Each company with a published model on Typecel for Markets has exactly one Official. It holds the company's three financial statements (the income statement, the balance sheet and the cash flow statement) year by year: the years the company has reported, then forecasts. Anyone can read it, with or without an account.

## Where the numbers come from

Reported figures come from documents the company publishes itself, taken from its investor-relations site:

- in Japan, annual securities reports and earnings releases;
- in the US, annual reports (10-K), or the SEC's copy where the company doesn't carry it;
- presentations and data books, where the model uses them.

Always the company's own document, never a summary of it. Every reported figure cites the document it came from, and anything else the model uses is noted in it.

## How an Official is made

1. Our team builds the Official with AI, from the company's reports.
2. The model is checked: Typecel's checks that it is consistent and that reported figures match the sources they cite, and our own checks of its methods and citations.
3. It is published only when it passes all of them, with no errors or warnings. Our team reviews the models and can take any of them off view at any time.
4. It is published on the company's page, as a new version.

Checks show a model is consistent and true to its sources. They can't tell you whether a forecast is right: the forecasts are assumptions, shown beside the figures they drive, and you can change them in your own fork.

## What an Official is not

An Official shows figures and the assumptions behind them, never whether to buy, sell or hold. Your Analyst Inc. is not registered as an investment adviser, and nothing on Typecel for Markets is investment advice.
